I would assume this to be Henosepilachna argus ?? Even if this species is not listed for Malta by Fauna Europaea, the pattern is really more typical for argus ?!

Here, one can observe a mutualistic relationship between the flower and the lady bug. In fact the plant provides shelter and protection to the ladybird and the ladybird helps the plant in pollination. |
