English: "Daguerreotype of American writer Edgar Allan Poe. Sixth plate. In Reserve Collection of American Antiquarian Society, with envelope written in Poe's hand to Mrs. Sarah Helen Whitman. Daguerreotype used as a model for Timothy Cole's wood engraving of Poe that appeared in the May 1880 Scribner's Magazine. Glass inserted February 1970 by George Eastman House. Gift of Mrs. Charles T.
